The Chief Minister of Telangana has launched a scheme named Telangana Economic Rehabilitation Scheme for the empowerment of disabled persons, senior citizens and transgenders of the state. Under this scheme, the government provides 100% financial assistance in the form of direct subsidy for units costing up to Rs 50,000. Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Telangana state.
- To apply, the applicant should be between 21 and 55 years old.
- The family’s annual income should not exceed ₹ 1.50 lakh in rural areas and ₹ 2 lakh in urban areas.
- Must be certified as a disabled person by a Medical Board with more than 40% disability.
- Candidates should not have received any subsidy from the Department of Disability Welfare or other agencies in the last 5 years.
- The beneficiaries cannot avail of benefits under the scheme for the next 5 years after receiving the assistance.
