Assam State Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched Assam Abhinandan 2.0 Loan Scheme on 5 September 2024 to make the future of students bright. Through this scheme, students who have taken loans up to ₹ 2,00000 to pursue higher education will be provided a subsidy of up to ₹ 50,000 by the government. Due to which students only have to repay 25% of their loan. All major banks, all commercial banks like Federal Bank and HDFC are covered under this scheme. The online portal for the scheme has been launched on 5 September 2024 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Eligibility Criteria for Abhinandan Education Loan 2.0 Scheme
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam state.
- The applicant student is eligible only if he has taken the loan between 01 April 2020 to 31 March 2024.
- The student’s parents should have an education loan of more than Rs 2 lakh.
- Bank is recognized by the Reserve Bank of India.
- The student must have taken a loan from a commercial or rural bank, otherwise he cannot avail the benefits of the scheme.

Steps to Apply For 2024 Abhinandan Education Loan Subsidy Scheme 2.0
