The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has started the Deepam Scheme for the women of the state. Through this scheme, three free gas cylinders will be provided every year to the women of the state. So that women can reduce their overall housing expenses by getting gas cylinders. Andhra Pradesh government will start providing free LPG cylinders to all eligible women citizens of the state from October 31, 2024. Update 30 October 2024: All women will get free gas cylinders from today
Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today (October 30) has implemented the free gas cylinder scheme across the state. According to the CMO report, the free gas cylinder scheme, one of the ‘Super Six’ promises, has been implemented across the state. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu handed over the subsidy amount to representatives of Hindustan Petroleum (HP), Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). Under the ‘Super Six’ promises made by the government, the state will bear the cost of three gas cylinders per year, for which the funds will be directly distributed to petroleum companies by CM Chandrababu Naidu.

Eligibility Criteria

- Adult women belonging to any of the following categories – SC, ST, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), Most Backward Class (MBC), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), tea and ex-tea plantation tribes, forest dwellers, people living on islands and river islands, SECC households (AHL TIN) or any poor household listed under the 14-point declaration will be considered eligible.

Steps to Apply Online for Deepam Scheme 2024
1st Step:- First of all, go to the official website i.e. https://ap.meeseva.gov.in/. The website home page will open on your screen.
2nd Step:- On the homepage website, you have to click on the “Deepam Gas Connection” option. Any page will open.
3rd Step:- On this page, click on the “pending” among all the available options.
4th Step:- Now a list of pending requests will appear on your desktop screen, female citizens have to click on their “Application Number”.
5th Step:- After that, female citizens have to download all the attached documents under the heading “Enclosed Documents”.
6th Step:- Now women citizens have to edit all the editable fields on the form and select “Approval” under the action taken heading.
7th Step:- After that, you have to enter your oil company, gas agency, and your comment and click on the “Submit” option.
8th Step:- After approval, the customer will receive a message that your request for your kind (Deepan Gas Connection) has been accepted, Application No. XXXXXXXXXXXX Transaction No. XXXXXXXXXXXXX Request approved.
9th Step:- After that, you have to go back to the home page and click on the “Deepam Gas Connection Request” option. A new page will open.
10th Step:- On this page, female citizens will have to enter their date and time of birth.
11th Step:- Now citizens also have to enter their circle and status and click on the “Get Details” option.
12th Step:- Now all “To be allotted” will appear on your desktop screen. Female citizens have to click on the request that they want to verify with the agency.
13th Step:- Now the agency officer forwards the application to DSO with specific reasons for correction.
14th Step:- After that, you have to enter the connection release date, and consumer number and click on the “Submit” option.
