Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal announced a scholarship scheme for Dalit students on Saturday (21 December 2024). Under this scheme, the Delhi government will fund Dalit students who have secured admission to foreign universities. Delhi government will bear the entire expense of education, travel, and accommodation of the students. So that no Dalit student has to leave his studies in foreign universities due to lack of funds. Kejriwal also said that children of government employees belonging to the Dalit community will also be able to avail the benefits of the Ambedkar Samman Scholarship scheme.
