PM Vishwakarma Yojana has been launched by the Central Government for Vishwakarma community citizens. Through this scheme, various types of training will be provided free of cost to the people of Vishwakarma community. The scheme will provide benefits to traditional artists and craftsmen like weavers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, potters, tailors, sculptors, washermen, masons, garland makers, and many others, totaling 30 lakh individuals across the country. Apart from this, PM Vishwakarma Yojana provides a loan of Rs 1 lakh in the initial stage to the interested entrepreneurs to start their new business. After this, there is an opportunity to reach additional Rs 2 lakh in the second phase.
Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 500 will also be provided to the beneficiaries during training and an amount of ₹ 15000 will also be transferred to the bank accounts of needy people to buy tool kits, etc. Apart from this, citizens who want to set up their own industry will be provided a loan amount of ₹ 300000 at the rate of 5% by the government.
