Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Shri MK Stalin has launched the Tamil Nadu Mudhalvar Marundhagam Scheme 2025 to provide medicines at lower rates to the citizens of the state. Under this scheme, Tamil Nadu State Government will open pharmacies which will be owned by the State Government to provide medicines to the citizens at lower rates in the market. Till now, a total of 1000 pharmacies have been opened by the state government, thereby providing the benefit of medicines at low rates to the citizens of the state. This scheme is specially designed keeping in mind the poor and needy people, so that they can get proper treatment without worrying about paying for expensive medicines.

About Mudhalvar Marundhagam Scheme 2025

Mudhalvar Marundhagam Scheme is an important health initiative launched by the Government of Tamil Nadu, which aims to provide free medicines and medical facilities to the citizens of the state. This scheme is finally launched by the state government on 24th February 2025. A total of 1000 pharmacies have been opened so far in the first phase of this scheme by the Tamil Nadu government and the Chief Minister will inaugurate the pharmacy located in Pondy Bazaar in Thyagaraya Nagar, Chennai. This plan claims to reduce your medical bills by up to 75%.

Under this scheme, essential medicines are provided free of cost by the Tamil Nadu state government, so that the needy people can get treatment at the right time without worrying about incurring the expense of expensive medicines. Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant citizen must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu state.
  • The person applying must have a registered certificate from the Pharmacy Council of India.
  • The pharmacy should be at a place where people can easily reach it.
  • If the shop is on rent then lease agreement and no objection certificate will have to be given.
