The Chief Minister of Telangana has launched a scheme named Telangana Economic Rehabilitation Scheme for the empowerment of disabled persons, senior citizens and transgenders of the state. This scheme will play an important role in empowering the disabled citizens of the state. This will also benefit the transgender community and it will get recognition in the society. Under this scheme, the government provides 100% financial assistance in the form of direct subsidy for units costing up to Rs 50,000. So that they can start or expand small businesses, agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, and other enterprises. Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Telangana state.
- To apply, the applicant should be between 21 and 55 years old.
- The family’s annual income should not exceed ₹ 1.50 lakh in rural areas and ₹ 2 lakh in urban areas.
- Must be certified as a disabled person by a Medical Board with more than 40% disability.
- Candidates should not have received any subsidy from the Department of Disability Welfare or other agencies in the last 5 years.
- The beneficiaries cannot avail of benefits under the scheme for the next 5 years after receiving the assistance.
