Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that the central government will launch a nationwide scheme to provide cashless treatment for road accident victims by March 2025. This initiative will cover medical expenses of up to Rs 1.5 lakh for road accident victims for a period of seven days after the accident. The scheme will cover accidents caused by motor vehicles on all types of roads. Nitin Gadkari said that if the accident is reported to the police within 24 hours, the government will bear the expenses of the treatment. After the pilot program launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in Chandigarh on March 14, 2024, the scheme will now be applicable to road accident victims across the country.

- Nitin Gadkari has announced a nationwide cashless treatment scheme for road accident victims.
- This scheme will now be applicable to road accident victims across the country.

- Unlicensed Drivers: 3,000 deaths were caused by drivers without valid licenses.
How to Apply for Cashless Treatment Scheme 2025
To avail the benefit of cashless treatment schemes, you will have to inform the police about the accident within 24 hours. Take the victim to the nearest government or empaneled private hospital. The accident and related documents will be verified by the police and hospital. After this, the government will bear the entire cost of treatment.
