Chief Minister of West Bengal state Mamata Banerjee has launched the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme for the welfare of married women. Through this scheme, monthly financial assistance will be provided to married women of the state. In which an amount of ₹ 1000 per month will be provided to women of the OBC category and an amount of ₹ 1200 per month will be provided to women of the SC, and ST category. 22 Nov Update:- 5 lakh more women included in Laxmi Bhandar Scheme
Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme has been launched by West Bengal. More than 5 lakh women will be included in Lakshmir Bhandar Yojana. Another 43,900 elderly widows will be entitled to old age pension and 19,000 more disabled persons will be brought under the monthly benefit scheme. For Lakshmi Bhandar, Rs 48,490 crore has already been disbursed, the CM said, adding that the revised figure will reach about Rs 54,000 crore with the addition of new beneficiaries.
